"From little things, big things grow"..

I've recently had the pleasure to hear Paul Kelly singing with Neil Finn at the Opera House, what a delight. His words and melodies come to me as I work quietly.

I love the secrecy and the surprise as I unwrap my bundle.

It's like a delicious feast inside, waiting to be savoured.

Detail of eucalyptus printed silk nuno felt.

Makes me happy, simple pleasures.

Sydney wearable art

With summer making a rather sudden departure in Sydney today, (I've been in denial for a month...) and enough rain to cause flash floods once again, it seems the perfect time to wrap up in one of these lovelies.

This is a hand felted reversible vest, with a textured silk nuno side and an Australian merino wool side. The piece can be worn in several ways, with collar folded over or sculpturally high to enwrap you during the chill.

A wooden button brooch can be attached where you like, leaving the variations to your imagination. It can also be turned upside down, making the collar more exagerated and the vest shorter. Play!

These natural fibres have been dyed using onion skins, in an eco friendly creation that is original, one of a kind and made by hand in my studio in Sydney. Dare to be different.
